TOURNAMENT
Teams will participate in the Jets NFL FLAG Regional Tournament at Central Park of Morris County on May 4-5, 2024.
Every team is guaranteed a minimum of (3) three Pool Play Games.
The TOP 50% of teams from Pool Play in each division will advance to a single elimination playoff bracket.
1st place winners: Every player receives a Regional Tournament custom ring, and a free bid to the NFL FLAG Championships at Pro Bowl Games.
TRYOUTS
All players must complete a Tryout Registration above. Tryouts are always free, but you still have to add it to your shopping cart and check out. A numbered Tryout Shirt will be provided to each player. Prospective players are encouraged to attend all three tryouts for their age group.
AGE GROUPS
Tournament Teams are Gender Specific. Teams are by Birth Year and not by School Grade like our Rec Leagues.
TRAINING
After Tryouts conclude, Teams have a weekly one-hour training session on either Tuesdays or Thursdays. Training is at either 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM. All training will take place at PENN Fields.
TEAM FORMATION
Teams are determined based on player skill level. A first team will be created from each age group pool of players. Additional teams will be created thereafter if the player skill level justifies it. Roster changes may also occur at any time due to changing circumstances as players progress through the season.
COACHING
Coaches will be determined as the teams are determined. Coach placement follows the player placement. If you would like to be considered for a coaching position with your child’s team, please click the appropriate box on the Registration Form. Coaches conduct the team practice each week and coach their team on game day. Each team has a Head Coach and an Assistant Coach. Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches receive a PENN Coaches Shirt and a PENN Sweatshirt. Head Coaches also receive a $50 reimbursement check.
UNIFORM & EQUIPMENT
Each player receives a Tournament Jersey and a Training Shirt. Players are expected to wear their Training Shirt to all practices. Black Shorts and Black Socks are required for games.
TEAM EQUIPMENT BAG
Each team is issued a Team Equipment Bag tailored to their specific sport and age group at the beginning of the season during Uniform & Equipment Pick Up. [Read More]
TEAM FEE
If your child makes a team and accepts the roster spot, the Tournament Team Fee is $199 per player for the season.
PARTICIPATION
Players continue to participate with their regular Recreational NFL FLAG League Team in addition to their Tournament Team. Tournament Team participation is supplemental.
Tournament Teams do not reform as a Rec Team through Special Requests in subsequent seasons. That would disrupt the parity within the Rec League where teams are formed more by school and geographic area.
CROSS SPORT SCHEDULING
Cross Sport Scheduling does not apply to Tournament Teams. It takes place on the same days as our Recreational Soccer Leagues and may cause a scheduling conflict if your child also plays in our Recreational Soccer League.
